Yu Darvish's performance on the mound set the tone for the San Diego Padres in the 6-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Petco Park. The 34-year-old hurler scattered two hits over six innings of one-run ball and fanned 11 batters. Darvish is now the fastest pitcher in MLB history to 1,500 strikeouts as he reached this milestone in just 197 games. Yu surpassed the previous record held by Hall-of-Famer Randy Johnson who accomplished this feat in 206 games.
