Seiya Suzuki received a standing ovation from the crowd at Wrigley Field as he stepped up to the plate for his first at-bat. In that appearance, Suzuki demonstrated his patient approach, working a six-pitch walk. Later in the game, Suzuki flashed the tools that earned him an $85-million pact with the Cubs. The outfielder laced a single for his first MLB hit and then went from first to third base on a single off the bat of Jason Heyward, before scoring in his first run on a sacrifice fly.
