Gerrit Cole set the tone for the New York Yankees in their 4-1 victory over the Angels with a brilliant performance on the mound. The four-time MLB All-Star scattered just four hits over seven innings of one-run ball and struck out 15 batters in the process. Cole's elite repertoire of pitches, highlighted by his electric fastball and wipe-out slider, led to a career-high 32 swing-and-misses. With this performance, Gerrit is just the third pitcher in franchise history to have 15 or more strikeouts with no walks in an outing.
