Team Japan is one step closer to defending their title, thanks in part to Masataka Yoshida. Trailing Team Australia 1-0 in the seventh inning, the outfielder's 394-foot two-run homer put Japan ahead in an eventual 4-3 win. The clutch longball helped the reigning World Baseball Classic champions avoid a major upset and clinch the top seed in Pool C.
