2025年の初本塁打をかけるなら、東京シリーズほど相応しい舞台はありませんでした。ハリウッド映画さながらのドラマの中、スーパースター・大谷翔平は5回に1ソロ本塁打で東京ドームの観客を熱狂させました。この本塁打により、大谷は東京ドームでのMLB公式戦で本塁打を記録した日本人選手として松井秀喜（2004年）に次ぐ2番目となりました。

There was no better stage for Shohei Ohtani to go deep for the first time in 2025 than the Tokyo Series. In a moment straight out of a Hollywood script, the superstar sent the Tokyo Dome crowd into a frenzy with a solo shot in the fifth inning. The dinger made Ohtani the second Japanese player ever to homer in a regular season MLB game at Tokyo Dome (Hideki Matsui, 2004).
