In the second inning of last night's contest between the Angels and the Houston Astros, Shohei Ohtani, as he often does, made a remarkable piece of Major League Baseball history. After striking out Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña for the 502nd strikeout of his MLB career, Ohtani passed Babe Ruth for the most career strikeouts for a two-way player. Additionally, over the course of his outing, Ohtani upped his 2023 strikeout tally to an American League-leading 66.
