Oakland Athletics rookie Jordan Diaz was all gas, no brakes on Tuesday night against the New York Yankees. Diaz started to push the pedal in the fourth inning, hitting a solo homer into left field. Then the 22-year-old took the training wheels off, crushing another homer in the seventh inning 382 feet with an exit velocity of 100.9 mph. At this point, the second baseman was in cruise control, smoking his third shot of the game over the fence in the eighth. Diaz is the third Oakland Athletics rookie to hit three home runs in a game, joining Mark McGwire and Mickey Cochrane.
