Back on a mound for the first time since the 2020 season, Houston Astros right-hander Justin Verlander seemed to turn back time with his season-long performance. The 39-year-old, two-time Cy Young Award winner fashioned a 18-4 record with an MLB-best 1.75 ERA. This mark is the lowest since Pedro Martinez's 1.74 figure in 2000 and is only the second time a pitcher age-39 or older led the Majors in ERA (Roger Clemens, age 42 in 2005).
