The San Francisco Giants hurler tossed six frames and punched out five Chicago Cubs hitters in a 5-2 home win. Verlander's strikeout (3,516) of Kyle Tucker in the opening inning moved him past Walter Johnson for ninth place on the all-time MLB list.
