On Sunday afternoon, Shohei Ohtani set the Tokyo Dome aflame with his brilliant three-run homer struck in the first inning of his Team Japan's meeting with Team Australia. Ohtani wasted no time, connecting with the first pitch of the at-bat from left-handed hurler Will Sherriff, sending the catalytic longball to well over the right-field wall and within feet of a billboard bearing his face. The 7-1 victory was Team Japan's fourth in a row, ensuring the nation ended their Pool Play round undefeated.
