New York Yankees starter Max Fried had to grind for his 13th victory of the season, but it came with a special milestone as a result. The 31-year-old struck out six Cardinals batters in the Yankees' 12-8 win, including the 1,000 batter of Fried's career. Fried sits at 141 whiffs in 2025, not far off his career-best of 173 set back in 2019.
