The 24-year-old hurler entered Friday's action with a 3-1 record, 2.73 ERA, and 38 punchouts in his previous five starts. His hot stretch continued against the San Francisco Giants, tossing seven innings of one-run ball with nine whiffs to pick up the victory. His eighth strikeout of Thairo Estrada marked the 400th of his career as a starter, tying him with Dwight Gooden for the fewest starts needed (46) to reach that amount in history.
