One game in, and it seems Max Scherzer prefers the Lone Star state over the Big Apple. In his first game pitching for the Texas Rangers since being traded by the New York Mets, the three-time Cy Young Award winner was lights-out. The hurler went six innings, recording nine strikeouts in a 5-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs. Scherzer's nine punchouts are the fifth-most by a Rangers player in their Club debut and the most since Jamie Moyer notched 13 strikeouts in 1989.
