In a contest that saw five different lead changes, it was the longball that was the deciding factor in Team Chinese Taipei's first 2023 World Baseball Classic win. Infielder Yu Chang knotted the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run blast over the wall in right-center, sending the sellout Taiwanese crowd into a frenzy. Two frames later, Kungkuan Giljegiljaw padded a one-run lead with a three-run homer, an impactful first hit of the tournament.
