Team Australia first baseman Rixon Wingrove got the party started early on Saturday afternoon and ended the day with his name in the Club's record book for World Baseball Classic competition. The 22-year-old slugger had a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first inning and an RBI single in the fourth, tying the team's single-game record for runs batted in. Wingrove joked after the game when asked what his 12-year-old self would have said about his performance, "He would have asked why I didn't have five?"
