Munetaka Murakami continued his torrid pace at the plate, delivering a landmark performance in a thrilling showdown with the Minnesota Twins. The left-handed slugger blasted a towering shot in the first inning for a milestone home run. Murakami became the first Japanese-born rookie and just the fourth player ever from Japan to reach 30 homers in a single season.
