James Wood has certainly left a strong early impression on Washington Nationals fans since arriving in MLB. With his team tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Cincinnati Reds, the young star stepped up to the plate. In a high-pressure moment, Wood didn't blink, smashing his first career go-ahead home run. The shot would lift his Nationals to a 5-2 win and earn a sweep of the series. "He's got no heartbeat, he just goes out there and competes," said Nationals Manager Dave Martinez after the game.
