Matt Olson's phenomenal 2023 Major League Baseball campaign has showed no signs of slowing down, and in last night's bout between his Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins, he belted his 52nd home run of the season. Not only did the sixth-inning solo shot increase his lead over second-place Pete Alonso to seven longballs, but it just set a new single-season home run record for the Atlanta Braves. Just four days after tying Andruw Jones' 2005 tally of 51, Olson now stands alone atop the single-season home run leaderboard for the Georgia-based ballclub.
