New York Mets second baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil captured his first career batting title this season — turning in a .326 average across 148 games and 589 plate appearances. The 30-year-old, who was named to his second career MLB All-Star Game earlier in the season, connected on a career-high 174 hits and had 53 multi-hit games during the year. "I expect to be a .300 hitter every single year. So this is where I want to be. This is the player I want to be for the rest of my career," said McNeil of his accomplishment.
