One of the premier strikeout pitchers of his era, Jacob deGrom, reached a personal milestone in a 3-0 Texas Rangers victory. Adding to his seven shutout frames and 10 punchouts, his fanning of Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki in the opening frame marked the 1,900th of his career. deGrom did so needing the second-fewest games (256) and innings (1,577 and 1/3) in history.
