In a beautiful afternoon matinee at Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú, a familiar face collected the first home run of the 2026 Mexico City Series. Alek Thomas, who represented Team Mexico during the World Baseball Classic, capped Arizona's four-run frame with a two-run blast - earning big applause from the Mexico City crowd. San Diego would ultimately rally, winning the contest, 6-4.
