On the mound for only his second career Major League start, Oakland Athletics left-hander Brady Basso put on a veteran performance on Friday, keeping the Chicago White Sox off the scoreboard during his five and 1/3 innings. The 26-year-old scattered five hits while striking out two, keeping hitters off-balance with a five-pitch approach and pounding away at the strikezone - throwing 50 off 77 pitches for strikes. "It's a dream come true," said Basso, who had his parents and wife cheering on in the stands.
