The Detroit Tigers hurler was in the zone during the team's 2-1 win over the Boston Red Sox, pitching eight innings, a career-high while striking out eight batters. The contest saw Skubal surpass 200 strikeouts on the year, becoming the first Big League pitcher to reach the milestone this season. He also becomes the fourth left-handed pitcher to reach 200 strikeouts in a season in Tigers history.
