It's safe to say the Houston Astros are already happy with their trade for Yusei Kikuchi. The pitcher made his team debut on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays, winning 3-2. Kikuchi struck out 11 batters over five innings, making it the most by a pitcher in his debut with the Astros since Gerrit Cole in 2018. He also became the first player in American League and National League history with eight-plus consecutive strikeouts in his Club debut.
