Yesterday, as part of the Chicago Cubs 7-1 win over the San Diego Padres, fresh-faced right-handed batter Miguel Amaya belted the first home run of his Major League Baseball career. With two outs and a man on base, the career-first longball was sent flying in the third inning after Amaya connected with a pitch from a Padres reliever. Amaya, who made his MLB debut in early May, 2023, was elated after the contest, "It is something that I am going to [remember for] the rest of my life."
