Yesterday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs met with the Los Angeles Dodgers and called on left-handed starter Drew Smyly to take the mound. Over the course of his seven and two-thirds innings on the mound, Smyly silenced the Dodgers bats, fanning 10 while keeping a perfect game bid alive until the first out of the eighth inning. Despite not twirling the complete no-hit, no-walk contest, Smyly's performance was breathtaking and helped his Club take home a shutout win, 13-0.
