Blue Jays outfielder George Springer proved to be the difference offensively in a tight game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He had five hits at the plate and scored four runs. A ninth-inning sacrifice fly may have been his most important RBI as it tied the game at nine, eventually leading to a 10-9 win. Springer is the only player in franchise history to record five hits on Opening Day and the first MLB player to register five hits and four RBI on Opening Day since Hall-of-Famer Billy Herman did it in 1936.
