On the same day Joey Gallo announced he will be participating in this year's T-Mobile Home Run Derby, the left-handed slugger left the yard twice to capture his 10th home run in his last 10 games. The Henderson, Nevada, native hit his first longball of the contest in the bottom of the second inning as he took a Casey Mize fastball to right field at a recorded exit velocity of 109.4 mph with an expected distance traveled of 440 feet, per Statcast. Gallo would follow up with another towering shot to right-center field, but this time with a recorded exit velocity of 111.6 mph and an expected distance traveled of 462 feet.
