It's been an inspirational ride by New York Mets southpaw Tyler Jay, who secured the win for his Club in his MLB debut on Thursday, 16-4. Jay, who spent six seasons in the Minors, was called upon in the eighth inning to get the final six outs against the Atlanta Braves. The 29-year-old left-hander is a former first-round pick who finally saw his chance come at the big-league level. "They get to know that dad never quit," he said, emotionally referring to his children after the win.
