There aren't many players in MLB history who had such pressure going into their debut. Ricky Karcher was thrown into the fire Monday night against the Kansas City Royals, getting the relief call in the tenth inning. The pressure-packed situation did not affect the Cincinnati Reds hurler, who successfully protected the team's one-run lead, leading to a 5-4 victory. Karcher's win also lands him in the history books, becoming the first Reds player since the save became an official stat in 1969 to record a save in his MLB debut.
