In a tight game against the Detroit Tigers, the Texas Rangers turned to rookie pitcher Grant Anderson in the fifth inning. Anderson would have an MLB debut to remember, retiring eight of the nine batters he faced while going scoreless in his showing. The 25-year-old made franchise history, becoming the first to strike out at least seven players while coming out of the bullpen in a debut.
