San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Alex Cobb had a tough assignment on Monday night as he squared off against the number three hitting offense in the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals. The crafty veteran was certainly up to the task, silencing the visitor's bats for all nine innings, recording his first complete-game shutout since August 23, 2012. "That was a long time ago," Cobb joked when asked about the time between both pitching gems.
