In Game 2 of the NLCS yesterday afternoon, the San Diego Padres were unrelenting, clawing back to erase the lead the Philadelphia Phillies had built in the second inning. In the bottom of the fifth inning, down by just a run, Juan Soto tucked a pitch from Aaron Nola into deep right field, scoring the game-tying run and winding up on second base. This sparked a five-run fifth inning and was absolutely crucial to turning the tide of the game, as the Padres would go on to win the contest, 8-5.
