Luis Severino had been sidelined from the New York Yankees active pitching staff for 707 days after undergoing Tommy John surgery in February of 2020. The two-time MLB All-Star made his highly anticipated return in Tuesday night's contest against the Texas Rangers. Severino entered the game in relief in the top of the eighth inning and scattered just two hits over two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. "It was pretty special having him back," said outfielder Aaron Judge. "He's a big part of this team, a big part of this organization. I'm just happy he's back, happy he's healthy. We're going to need him down the stretch, I know that."
