Alek Manoah set multiple Club records over the course of his masterful start in the 11-1 victory over AL East Division rival, the Tampa Bay Rays. The Homestead, Florida, hurler scattered three hits over the course of seven scoreless innings pitched and struck out a career-high 10 batters. Alek relied heavily on his slider to put batters away, as he induced 11 swing-and-misses of the 22 he threw. Through his deadly arsenal of pitches, Manoah fanned seven in a row early on in his start and has now struck out 43 batters over his first seven starts, both marking franchise records.
