Jorge Soler set the tone for the Atlanta Braves, 6-2, World Series Game 1 victory over the Houston Astros with a historic leadoff at-bat. The 29-year-old from La Habana, Cuba, turned on a 94-mph fastball, delivered from Framber Valdez, and sent it well into the left-field seats at Minute Maid Park for a solo homer. This effort marked the first time in World Series history that the first batter of Game 1 connected for a longball.
