The Brewers needed a win to position themselves for a Postseason clincher on the final day of the season. They turned the ball over to Brandon Woodruff, who delivered eight shutout innings pitched against the St. Louis Cardinals. The right-hander struck out 10 batters and allowed just two hits, handing the ball over to Josh Hader to complete the shutout. The 3-0 win allows the Brewers to control their destiny on the final day of the season. With a win, the Brewers will clinch a Postseason berth.
