The Phillies headed into Friday's doubleheader matchup against the Blue Jays, knowing that they needed to pull off a sweep to remain in contention for the postseason. Starter Zach Eflin set the tempo for Philadelphia to do just that with a complete game shutout in Game 1. Eflin scattered four hits while striking out nine over seven innings of work. This was his first complete game shutout in the first Game of the doubleheader.
