The configuration of Fenway Park in Boston has not been very friendly to lefthanders in recent seasons; more specifically, ones making their MLB debut. Peterson defied the odds, however, on Tuesday night and became the first southpaw in 18 years to work at least five innings in a debut game. A first-round draft pick in 2017, David scattered seven hits across 5.2 innings pitched while striking out three, earning his first big league win as the Mets downed the Red Sox, 8-3.
