With the Twins facing a 2-1 deficit in the sixth inning against the division-rival White Sox, Edwin Encarnacion launched a towering fly ball into deep left-center field. Byron Buxton raced to the wall, leapt and pulled back a would-be home run. The athletic play kept the game within reach and the Twins clawed back to even it up before Buxton came through in the clutch again with a go-ahead single in the seventh inning to lead a 3-2 win.
