Max Kepler's fourth-inning, two-run home run against the Texas Rangers marked his 33rd of year. The blast set the single-season Major League record for most home runs ever by a European-born player. The German-born Kepler broke the record that previously belonged to Scotland-born Bobby Thomson, who set the record of 32 homers for the New York Giants in 1951 with his famous "Shot Heard 'Round the World".
