Jay Bruce wasted little time impacting the Philadelphia Phillies in his first start with the team. Bruce hit a home run in the fourth inning off of Chris Paddack to give the Phillies a 3-2 lead. The slugger followed that up with a grand slam in the fifth inning to break the game open, 8-2, in an eventual 9-6 victory.
