Mike Soroka cruised through six innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out five batters. The solid start was the eighth consecutive start that the right-hander allowed one earned run or fewer, which is the first time since Edinson Volquez in 2008 that a pitcher has opened the season with such a stretch.
