Zach Eflin showed brilliant technique in the second shutout of his career. The 25-year-old right-hander went the distance on 110 pitches, throwing first-pitch strikes to 19 of 31 hitters. He walked none and struck out seven, scattering four hits. Eflin had only allowed three singles until Alex Gordon doubled with two outs in the ninth. This performance led to an impressive 7-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
