The first baseman's knock marks an Angels record for reaching base safely in first 16 career games, passing Darin Erstad, who set the record with 15 games in 1996. It's been quite the story for the 21-year-old, who was playing collegiate baseball at Florida Atlantic University just a couple of months ago.
