Magicians are said to be able to create something out of thin air, so it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise when Javier turned a simple steal attempt of second into a run for the Cubs. Up, 4-3, with no outs in the bottom of the eighth, and looking for some insurance, Baez took off on a 3-2 count. The throw from Indians catcher Sandy Leon sailed wide right, allowing the shortstop to hustle to third, but he didn't stop there. Javier pressured the defense by taking off for home, forcing a bad throw and extending his team's lead to 5-3.
