An electric game between Team Mexico and Team Puerto Rico saw the latter jump out to an early lead. Instead of panicking, Team Mexico turned to Isaac Paredes, who delivered a booming homer to left-center field. Alex Verdugo took another chunk out of the lead with an RBI single, but the team was still down, 4-2. Paredes once again answered with a two-run RBI to tie the game in the seventh. Finally, the stage was set for Luis Urias, who hit an RBI-single to give Team Mexico their first lead of the game, leading to a 5-4 win and a trip to the semifinals.
