The 2024 campaign has been good to veteran southpaw Chris Sale. The Atlanta Braves left-hander dominated the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, tossing seven scoreless frames and striking out nine batters in the 3-0 win. Sale not only picked up his NL-leading 16th victory, but his outing gave him his eighth career season of 200-plus punchouts. He became the first Club hurler to allow two or fewer earned runs in 15 straight starts since 1912, when earned runs became an official NL stat.
