With his second strikeout of the first inning against the Minnesota Twins, the southpaw notched his 193rd punchout of the year. That marks the most ever by a Braves left-hander in a single regular season. Warren Spahn set the mark in 1950 with 191 strikeouts, before Tom Glavine recorded 192 in 1991. Sale would strike out six batters over six one-run innings in the win, 5-1, picking up his 15th in the process.
