Reeling off a breakout 2019 campaign, Shane has begun the 2020 season like few have ever had before. The righthander set an Indians team record on Opening Day with 14 strikeouts against the Royals and on Thursday evening set a new American League record with 27 strikeouts in the first two starts of a season. His 13 whiffs vs. the Twins saw him surpass Nolan Ryan's 25 Ks in 1978 and tie Karl Spooner who reached 27 with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954.
